About Akosombo Dam
Completed in 1965, the Akosombo Dam holds back the Volta River to form Lake Volta. It remains one of the most important engineering projects in Ghana's history. Viewpoints over the dam and the lake are impressive; visits closer to the dam are arranged in advance.
