About Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

The memorial park stands where Kwame Nkrumah declared Ghana's independence on 6 March 1957. It holds his mausoleum, a museum of his life and the independence movement, and gardens with statues and fountains. It is the best single place in Accra to understand modern Ghana's beginnings.
