About Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary

The twin villages of Boabeng and Fiema have protected their monkeys for generations: killing one is taboo, and monkeys that die are given a funeral. Black-and-white colobus and mona monkeys live in the forest and around the villages. It is one of Ghana's best examples of conservation through tradition.
